Why travel matters more than anything

Hey, I’m Mohan, just a 17 year old, and while most of my friends are caught up in school, exams, and chasing degrees, my heart is somewhere else — it’s in the sky, on planes, and out exploring new places. For me, travel isn’t just a hobby. It’s the thing that makes me feel alive, and honestly, it means more to me than anything else.I’m not gonna lie — school has never really clicked with me. I sit in classes, forced to study stuff I don’t care about, and then forget it all the next day. But when I travel, every moment is locked into my brain — the sights, the sounds, the people I meet. That feeling? It’s unforgettable.

Last year, I went to China with my family, and every experience from that trip still lives in my mind like a movie. Compare that to trying to remember what the teacher said yesterday — it’s no contest. Travel teaches me things school never could. When you’re on the road, you’re learning from the world itself — not from textbooks or tests. You learn how people live in different countries, how cultures mix and clash, how to adapt when things don’t go as planned. Travel opens your mind in ways school never will.

I want to be a travel journalist because I believe travel is the most important education anyone can have. It’s about stories, experiences, and connecting with people — not just grades or degrees. My family wants me to study a course I don’t like and get a stable job, but I’m not convinced that stability means happiness. I’d rather live a life full of adventure and learning than be stuck in an office I hate. And honestly, money is just extra — the real reward is the experience. If you don’t fit into the usual school-to-job path, you’re not alone. Life is too short to live someone else’s dream. Follow what sets your soul on fire. For me, that’s travel. And I hope my story inspires you to find your own path, whatever it may be.
